PolarForecast (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use polarforecast.com, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not run advertising networks. We collect only what we need to provide a great forecast service.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account data — If you create a free account: email address, hashed password. We use Supabase for secure authentication storage.
• Usage data — Page visits, feature interactions, and general device type (via anonymised analytics). No cross-site tracking.
• Alert preferences — If you sign up for aurora alerts: email address and your preferred KP threshold. Used only to send you alerts.
• Location — Only if you explicitly grant browser location permission to show your local forecast. Never stored server-side without your consent.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

We use strictly necessary cookies for session authentication. We use anonymous analytics (no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking). You can opt out of analytics cookies at any time via our cookie banner.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

PolarForecast uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — Authentication and user data storage (EU region). Privacy policy →
• NOAA / NASA / ESA — Space weather data. These are public-domain government APIs. No personal data is shared.
• Vercel — Hosting. Anonymised request logs only.

Account data is retained until you delete your account. Alert subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Anonymised analytics data is retained for 24 months.

Under GDPR and applicable laws, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Withdraw consent for analytics at any time
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
